Pukyong National University and the City of Busan
Pukyong National University, one of the largest and leading universities in Korea, was established on 6 July 1996 by the successful amalgamation of two national universities, Pusan National University of Fisheries and Pusan National University of Technology. Pukyong has 6 Colleges, 18 Divisions and 87 Departments with 27,003 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

By obtaining a good reputation in fisheries and oceanary sciences as well as science and technology, Pukyong aims to establish international partnership relations with world-class leading universities around the world. Pukyong proposes a scholarship grant for overseas students who are willingly joining the Pukyong Exchange Program.
City of Busan
Busan, a bustling city of 4 million residents, is located on the Southeastern tip of the Korean peninsula. The natural environment of Busan is a perfect example of harmony between mountains, rivers and sea. Its geography includes a coastline with superb beaches and scenic cliffs, mountains which provide excellent hiking and extraordinary views, and hot springs scattered throughout the city. Busan enjoys four distinct seasons and a temperate climate that never gets too hot or too cold.
Busan is the second largest city in Korea. Its deep harbor and gentle tides have allowed it to grow into the largest container handling port in the country and the fourth largest in the world, with potential for even more growth. Its natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan's increasing reputation as a world-class city of tourism and culture.
Busan is proud to be playing a major role on the world stage with its hosting of the 2002 Asian Games and its participation in hosting the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. We look forward to sharing the splendor of modern Busan and the energy of its residents with visitors from near and far.
