Language Support

The language and study skills program is specially designed and provided by Pukyong Foreign Language Education Center for IDD students. It has two main purposes: the improvement of students' English proficiency and the development of their study skills. The first two courses during the first semester of the first-year period provide practice in four skills of English: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The second two courses during the second semester of the first-year focus on the improvement of comprehension and production through intensive practice in pronunciation, vocabulary and idiom, grammar, and writing styles. The final four courses during the first and second semester of the second-year period provide intensive training in the skills needed for academic study through English: lecture comprehension and notetaking, reading, essay writing, and participation in tutorials and seminars.
